Trillium House Welcomes Melissa Cavill As New Executive Director

(Marquette, Michigan) – Trillium House is pleased to welcome Melissa Cavill, R.N., as its new executive director. Utilizing her experience in marketing, sales, nursing, palliative care, skilled nursing settings, rehabilitation and health management, Cavill will oversee operations, development, and community outreach for the organization. Located in Marquette, Michigan, Trillium House serves individuals and families throughout the Central U.P. who need additional support while receiving hospice services and respite care but are unable to remain in their homes.

Prior to joining Trillium, Cavill served as director of Case Management for U.P. Health System (UPHS)– Bell where she oversaw admission and discharge coordination, utilization management, and served as an insurance liaison. She also served as clinical liaison and a registered nurse for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at UPHS-Marquette. In this role, she was responsible for the care of inpatient rehabilitation patients, medical surgical overflow patients, and end of life comfort care as well as coordination of admissions, insurance liaison, community outreach and education. Cavill also served as a One-Call nurse in the Emergency Department at UPHS – Marquette.

I look forward to working to ensure that other individuals and families know about the tranquil, dignified environment, exemplary care staff, and top-notch services Trillium has to offer those who need it in partnership with area hospice agencies, health systems, and providers.“

Trillium is currently accepting residents for its respite program and those working with area hospice agencies in need of support outside of the home. All individuals utilizing Trillium services receive a private room and bath overlooking the woods, home-style meals, and 24-hour care and support in a beautiful homelike setting. 

In addition to her professional role, Cavill also is president-elect of the Marquette Lions Club where she has served in several leadership roles on its Board of Directors. She is also former vice chair of The New Free Store and on the board of directors of Trace Holistic. Cavill is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in Nursing, minoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in health care.
